Birch Lake is a contemporary replacement dwelling designed to sit quietly within its rural lakeside setting. Positioned deeper into the site, the house uses a low, horizontal form that follows the natural topography and opens towards views of the lake.
Carefully controlled glazing, deep overhangs and a restrained palette of stone, buff brick and timber help reduce its visual impact while creating a strong connection between the architecture and surrounding landscape.
